Micaiah "Daddy's Girl" Dempsey
I was born on February 7, 2004 and am told that I came out of the womb singing - at least that's what my daddy told me!
Since age 5, I have played the piano. My training has included a rich variety of styles including classical, jazz and gospel.
More than half my life has been spent on something I am passionate about - music!
As a Christian, I know all my talents and abilities come from the Lord. I am a proud member of the Worship Warriors youth choir at my church (which also happens to be the best in the Bay Area -Higher Ground Church in Oakland, CA).
Did I mention we have the best pastor too? Yep, my dad!
In addition to singing and playing, I am actively involved in our youth ministry and direct our children's choir.
Aside from music, here are "a few of my favorite things" (as John Coltrane and Nat King Cole sang).
I love fashion, make-up and creativity in general.
I love to explore the endless opportunites of creating new music.
I love ASL (American Sign Language), and take weekly lessons with my teacher who is deaf.
My dream is to become an interpreter for my church and reach the deaf community.
Creative writing is another passion of mine! Recently, I wrote a Christian children's book about a squirrel named Samantha, who is learning about fighting the fight of faith. It's going to be published soon, so hook a sister up and (please) go check it out.
I'll post more details soon about how you can support a young and talented ARTIST!
For fun, I like hanging out with my cousins, binge-watching Stranger Things (I'll admit, I have a problem) and reading books.
I also enjoy having photo shoots with my little sister Mercy, where I pick out outfits and let her work her magic.
She's a natural!
Proverbs 19:21 tells us "Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand."
While I know it is the Lord who holds my future in His hands, it is my prayer and hope to attend
Ohlone College to complete the ASL/Deaf Studies Program and become certified
as an interpreter. Additionally, I would then like to pursue a career as a music producer!
